Gondwana Green Heat was started and is still managed by Dave Adams who, having worked in his father’s business building Scandinavian high-spec timber-framed houses, decided to pursue his own passion for sustainable heating systems.
The business has grown to a major supplier of high-quality heating systems to homes and businesses throughout Scotland and now offer worldwide heating consultancy and Passive house consultancy.
Despite growing Gondwana still remains a family affair: Dave’s father Stuart has now joined his son at Gondwana, adding his huge experience and expertise in the building trade to the specialist knowledge of Dave and his staff.
As well as being a leading supplier of wood-burning, biomass and pellet stoves, Gondwana Green Heat is involved in research and development of stove design, especially looking for ways to reduce emissions and improve efficiency. Techniques it is involved in developing include thermal storage and ways to generate electricity from excess heat. Working closely with manufacturers as a trusted partner, Gondwana is therefore confident of supplying the very latest in green technology and the best innovations for your home or office.
Dave is the third generation of his family to run a business in the construction industry: His grandfather brought modern timber-frame techniques to Scotland from Canada after the Second World War, and his father built the business into a supplier of Scandinavian kit homes.
It was on those Scandinavian kit homes ( 20 years back) that Dave first gained vital experience of renewable heating systems that were mainstream in Scandinavia but were very new or unheard of the Uk, like Mvhr, Pellet boilers and stoves as well as heat pumps.
Dave’s father Stuart started his working life as a apprentice builder and chimney specialist before joining the family business his father had set up, making high-quality timber frame buildings. Stuart helped transform that business into a supplier of Swedish kit homes, which included ground-breaking heating technology not seen before in the UK.
