Room Heating Pellet Stoves
Gondwana Green Heat has been fitting pellet stoves for around 9 years. It has been a slow start for pellet stoves within the UK market. Brits tend to be a bit conservative when it comes to new products. However, we are now finally seeing people in numbers moving to pellet stoves. Pellet stoves started off over 20 years ago in Europe mainly in Scandinavia and northern Italy.
There are many advantages to pellet stove heating.

- Pellets are generally sold in bags with a moisture content of 4-10% (meaning no wet logs).
- Very clean burn, and therefor good for the environment. Pellet stoves burn wood pellets which is a carbon neutral form of heating.
- Pellet stoves heat up rooms quickly, whilst not overheating the room due to thermostatic control.
- Pellet stoves come with programmable times allowing you to control when your pellet stove is working.
- Pellet stove look good with a large glass viewing area to see flames.
- Pellet stove have automatic ignition so no paper and kindling etc.
- Existing chimney stacks can be used or alternatively a new twin wall chimney can be used.
- Many pellet stoves have external air kits allowing you to draw air from outside.
- Wood pellets are a stable form of fuel, which can be produced in the UK, creating UK jobs in forestry, industry and haulage etc.
- Pellet stoves come with a integrated pellet store, this is filled up using bags of fuel. Pellet stoves can vary how often they need to be filled but a 30kg pellet hopper will burn for around 30 hours on a 5kw output. Impressive
- Some pellet stoves allow you to connect ducting from your pellet stove to other rooms, this allows you to transfer heat to different parts of your property without the need for radiators.

- Stoves have built in fans to force air from the pellet stove to the rest of the room, making the room heat up very quick.

The picture shows how some pellet stove manufacturers, allow spiral ducting to be installed alongside there product, this allows you to duct hot air to different rooms within your property. These forced air pellet stove then become fully fledged heating systems, making them a very cost effective heating system.
