Solar Tanks Which Store Domestic Hot Water (only dhw)
These are the most commonly used solar tanks in the uk and widely available through most plumbing merchants. They are simply to design and fit. Liquid from the solar collector is simply pumped to the solar hot water cylinder which passed through a indirect coil and heats the dhw inside the cylinder, theses cylinders/ tanks usually have another coil for gas / oil / heat pumps / biomass etc and most have electrical immersion heaters as a back up. The downside of solar hot water in this scenario is that solar energy is only heating your water for use at the taps, however this is the cheapest adaptation of solar thermal available.
