The Round stack stove is as the description sounds a round stack of components built on top of each other, there are quite a few options available to suit personnel taste and heat output. Firstly there is a comprehensive colour scheme to chose from as well as shiny or opaque finish (matt). The main difference between models is base style and height, firstly there is the slim model, slightly smaller than the regular range. Then there is 4 base options, then the choice of 2 heights.
The 2 height options allow for a additional layer of ceramic to be added this adds slightly more thermal mass while making the round stack stove taller and more slender in appearance.
Stack Stove, size 1, shiny white, rim base
Round Stack Stove, size 1, shiny black, side base
Round Stack Stove, in shiny red and white, size 1 with long base
Round Stack Stove, mixed colour with oak wood base
Height Differences of Stack Stoves
As previously mentioned the Round Stack by Stack Stove also comes in a different height this allows for a small amount of additional thermal mass to be added, please see the following picture.
Round Stack Stove, size 2 with rim base in green.
Optional additional thermal mass can be added, this does not affect overall appearance.
The tall round stack stove (option 2 above) can also come with a additional thermal masses added internally, this has the benefit of turning this tile stove into a fully fledged masonry stove capable of heating your home for up to 12 hours after going out.
Stove model | Size | Weight | Output in KW and heating area |
---|---|---|---|
Stack stove size 1, all bases | h 1.13m x w 0.63m note width is for rim base, other stoves bases are larger / longer chimney spigot 150mm | 230 kg | 6.5 kw heats 100-230 m3 |
Stack stove size 2, all bases | h 1.370m w 0.63m note width is for rim base, other stove bases are larger / longer chimney spigot 150mm | 260 kg | 7.5 kw heats 100 to 260 m3 |
Stack stove size 2 all bases, with heat accumulation system | h 1.370m w 0.63m note width is for rim base, other stove bases are larger / longer chimney spigot 150mm | 410 kg | 9 kw heats 260 m3 for up to 12 hours |
Stack stove slim, rim base | h 1.13m x w 0.51m d 0.59m chimney spigot 150mm | 230 kg | 6.5 kw heats 100-230 m3 |
The heating capacity of the round stack stove as you can see from the chart is quite variable, the upper number is for modern well insulated property while the lower figure is for older poorly insulated property.
All stack stoves have the ability to come with a direct air kit, meaning combustion air can be drawn from outside rather than installing a vent with in room where the stove sits.
As with all wood fueled heating appliances the Stack stove requires a hearth, due to the weight of the Stack Stove a strong base is essential and we at Gondwana recommend a reinforced constructural hearth.
